Camporama!!

finally back to seeing the kids!!

Camporama! is a church camp for the kids of Royal Rangers in Singapore, and is supposed to be four days from wed 04-07th sat. BUT! being part of the Ranger Kids (4-7 years old and oso the youngest group), i had reason to go onli on the day they were gg! hahaha!

reached church on fri at 8am, which oso meant tt, by that time, i had already been awake for 20hrs. i was tired but definitely happy to see them! saw many new faces that day and started tokking to them. they slowly warmed up and offered mi sweets and soon after, we started chatting playing on the way to the destination! lurves !

upon reaching Christ Church Secondary School, we were shown ard, and i must admit, they do haf alot of utilities! from basic to advanced rock-climbing, flying fox, nitro and river-crossing, and even wii, jus for the kids!! the camp for the RKs kick-started off with them changing into their camp t-shirts and caps, and then doing their praise and worship and sermon, for which they get to sing and dance and listen to stories, as well as get chocs and gifts! lucky them!

after that it was lunch-time for them, followed by activities!

the group was q big so in the end, we had two commanders to 10-12 kids. in our group were 11 kids- huiyi huimin ashley kevina kenan keith timon mitchell weihong jonathan javen! 4hrs for 8 stations!

first stop! team-building- walking blindfolded in a rope circle. was okies until they started getting fidgety with ants on the grass!

second! craft- photo frame. kids hadta decorate their own photo frames with the materials given, and their lil hands had glues on them afterwards despite the fact that we had taken precautions to ensure that they would be glue-free!

third! craft/ spiritual- ballon sculpture/ photo-taking, puzzle-memory verse. they had the luxury of choosing their desired ballon shapes and getting commander linda to sculpt it for them, after which those who had swords begin finghting non-stop with each other! it was so chaotic that the photo-taking and puzzle-memory verse ended up in a battlefight too! playfully of cos!

fourth! spiritual- story. finally a lil time to rest in e air-con music studio and listen to the stody of Jesus feeding the 5000, and david killing goliath. at the end of the session, each of us had a kit-kat to bring back, including the commanders and helpers! yums!

fifth! team-building- mohawk walk, basic rock wall. we somehow missed the mohawk walk, but the kids lurved the rock-climbing! they even voluntarily queued up for a second round, but of cos, we din haf enough time!

sixth! confidence- nitro-crossing, river-crossing. we did river-crossing first, in which they were swung from one side to the other, with a real! pool of muddy water, at least a meter deep, in between! some managed to get over smooth and dry, while others washed their shoes in the muddies! nitro-crossing up next! the aim was to get from one end to another by stepping on planks with teamwork, and they did extremely well! the instructor was beri encouraging too!

seventh! game- telematch- leopard crawl. this required the kids to walk swiftly to a bench carrying a plastic spoon with a pingpong ball in it, put the spoon and ball on the bench, crawl on their knees underneath the bench on the muddy grass, run to the other end, walk ard a stool 5 times, and go back repeating all the stuffs they had done. sounds complicated? its not! the onli difficult part for them was the crawling underneath the bench cos they din wan their pants to get dirty! some even took a long time at that segment til we hadta raise the bench for them so that their knees wouldn't hafta touch the ground!

last stop! scissors paper stone trail. where they hadta take turns playing scissors paper stone with another team. loser gets eliminated, and winner team is the team which has members left after their opponents all get eliminated. our team and the other team each won once=)

when it was time to go back, the kids still wanted to play nintendo wii but din get the chance to as the bus was leaving back to church. but they were ok! they continued playing with their swords and chatting and writing notes on the bus instead. by the time we reached church, most of the balloons had burst due to hard knocks!

it was reli fun with the kids and im so happy to be back with them! a pity din manage to get pics, they are reli a cute bunch!!
