SUPER TAIWAN!! 2ND PART OF DAY 01!!

went shopping with jiamin and gladys at Shilin and there were really q alot of shops, especially the ILLEGAL shops in the middle!! totally the experience of my life!!

we din haf much time to shop the first night as it was q late alr and we hadta rush back to the hotel before our last train, so we hurriedly browsed thru the rows of shops that were within our sights. mom and dad decided to go somewhere to rest and haf a drink while mi sis jiamin and gladys headed for the night market itself! there were stores selling clothes, food, shoes, posters, cuties, and more. we din even time for a proper dinner and ended up sharing some chicken cutlet from one of the stores, and i got to drink my fav bubble tea!! the pearls were the tiny ones and the drink was really nice! the chicken cutlet was bony and a lil too oily tho, so u can imagine for the rest of our taiwan stay, we decided to stay off chicken cutlets for gd! other foods that we saw at the chix cutlet store included ALL the innerts of the chicken (no jokes!), but the one that caught my eye was the chix heart, 鸡心!! they were selling boxes and boxES AND BOXES of it full of little chicken hearts and they still looked red and raw!! gawd.

haha anw jiamin wanted to show us a stall selling accessories cos gladys had bought stuffs from there a few days before and they had a favourable impression of the shop. and jiamin kept saying that he wanted to look for the "ah ma" running the stall, so we went in search for it.

went thru 2 rows of shops but din get to see the stall and so thot of moving on, when jiamin suddenly called out, "ah ma!!" hahaha sth lidat la but we had found it! the "ah ma" was nice and she still remembered jiamin and gladys and agreed to gif mi and sis discounts on items we bought from her. sis and i were happily selecting the stuffs we wanted to get when there came a big commotion. the ah ma was hurriedly closing her stall and pushing it away while shouting to us, "有警察！ 快！ 跟我来！" gestering us to follow her, and jiamin was shouting back to her, "阿ma, 我帮你推!" referring to her push cart stall. all the other stalls that had initially occupied the middle streets were oso pushing their carts and suddenly disappeared into their own dark hiding places. that scene was jus classic!

we were led into a dark alley where the ah ma continued selling her gds to us. they weren't cheap tho cos the ah ma said its from japan or korea or sth, but i must say they were really lovely pieces! mi sis and gladys each bought a necklace hees. by that time the police had left and the kermits came outta their shells again. within a split second, the empty middle streets were bustling with life again! hahaha!

it was getting late and mi and sis hadta leave. but not before walking past this Nike or some sports stall where jiamin caught sight of slippers! they were branded slippers but selling at almost half the price available in Sg, and ALOT of varieties too!

he had asked us to get it on his behalf cos they had run out of his size and he was gg back the next day while mi and sis were still gg to be in taiwan for the next few days. so he asked the salesperson when the new stocks were arriving and he was told that the guy delivering the stocks was jus around the corner! haha we decided to wait, but his corner seemed damn far away cos he was nowhere to be seen even after we had finished taking these pics..

mi and sis met mom and dad to head back to the hotel first while jiamin and gladys waited for their ard-the-corner-delivering-his-slippers guy, and we agreed to mit back at our hotel afterwards!

2 storey Macs and KFCs are sooo common in taiwan, like respectable fast-food chains. unlike Sg, where they seem more like jus some plc to get ur burger and fries.

i was searching for MR PIGGY's shop for a really long time and even crossed streets but jus couldn't find. all i could see that uplifted mi was the super-sized poster of PIGGY himself on one of the buildings.


decided to continue my search another day and went to mit the rest!


took us a few shots before we finally got it right. that i wasn't looking funny and all their hand signs could be seen clearly=)


saw this cool looking scooter and wanted to take a pic with it! was apprehensive cos din wan the owner to suddenly barge outta nowhere and reprimand mi, and they were saying y not take a pic w the the scooter from across the street instead cos it was hidden in a corner and the owner was less likely to spot us. but i din wan cos it was so old-looking! no sooner had i rejected than the owner of that old-looking scooter come outta nowhere and rode it away! whew~ so i mustered up some courage while jiamin helped take the pic of mi and the cool one. was trembling as i plonked myself on the seat and kiao my ka on the bike. the moment i was done taking the photo, i strode away, and tts when i heard the owner came down the stairs from some restaurant with his girl! i seriously dono if he had seen mi messing with his bike but he din say anything when he saw us, so lucky!

was still hungry so told the rest i hadta go 7-11 get food. and i was pleasantly surprised to see..

.. SUSHI!! there's loads and i had a hard time choosing, but in the end i got this! 7 savoury pieces for onli 55NT, which is S$2+!!

i tel u, we had 7-11 sushi EVERYDAY in taiwan for the rest of our stay can u believe it? EVERY SINGLE DAY! they were jus so soO soOO SOOOO YUMMY!!
